The NR-40 scout knife was accepted into Russian military service in 1940 and served well through the Second World War and later. The knife was famously issued to Russian paratroopers as well as the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps. The Razvedchika (scout) field knife is our attempt at a faithful recreation of Soviet-era NR-40 blade, featuring only the necessary features needed for a robust field knife. The Razvedchika features a simple clip point, black grips, and an inverted "S" shaped crossguard; a carry-over from the early days of Soviet combat doctrine which called for grasping the knife with the edge faced upwards.
